Second hand games market growing with Tesco

Aug 21, 2010

Following UK retailer Argos’s announcement of their recent nationwide games trade in scheme the largest retailer in the UK, Tesco, have announced their entry in to this market.

Tesco have been trialling the scheme in 60 stores and are now ready to roll the scheme out nationwide. This provides very stiff competition against established trade-in companies like Game and Blockbuster who have already been struggling.

Similar to the Argos scheme this trades in your game for store credit. While this gives them the opportunity to present a perceived increase value to your games you need to consider they will be taking into account the mark up on their grocery items already and the chances you will be purchasing other goods while there too. An quite frankly thats likely to be more games !
