Project Natal renamed Kinect

Jun 14, 2010

It’s been about a year since we first saw the weird little black box appear in the Microsoft press conference in 2009. So a year later we expect to see a whole host of changes to Project Natal, the first of which seems to be a rename. Yes, Project Natal has been newly labelled Kinect (pronounced ‘connect‘).

This comes just in time for Microsoft’s press conference which is showing later today. Natal, oh I mean Kinect, will no doubt be a huge part of the conference and E3 in general, so is one to watch!

You can check out more about the rename here.

Wow, Microsoft’s press conference was really underwhelming imo. I hope Sony and Nintendo’s are more interesting.

I wasn’t very impressed with Kinect (at least in Microsoft’s preview). Most of the games previewed had similar counterparts released by Nintendo a couple years ago. The dance game looked interesting, but aside from that, I thought it was pretty underwhelming.

Ubisoft’s conference had a much more interesting presentation of Kinect, so there might be hope for Kinect.
