Bright Falls: The Prequel to Alan Wake

May 3, 2010

If you’re like me, you’re probably incredibly pumped about the new Alan Wake that’ll be released soon. It has everything a Silent Hill junkie could ask for — mystery, murder, possible mental breakdowns — it sounds great! And if you’re like me, besides being incredibly gorgeous and blessed with tiny pores, you’ll also be without an Xbox Live account.

So that leaves you and me shit out luck when it comes to watching the LIVE ACTION episodes of Alan Wake. Luckily the internet is there to console me, and it does a great job! Plus it helps that the reporter Jake is a hunk.

Youtube has pulled through in the clutch and the user Machinima has created a channel just for future viewing of Bright Falls. You can catch the first two episodes right now.

This isn’t the first time that Xbox Live has done something like this. They love their prequels, mainly because it negates having to actually EXPLAIN things in-game, so they’re going another direction and making movies.
Another successful venture they did was for .

Bright Falls is an online series of live action shorts set in the fictitious Pacific Northwest town of Bright Falls, WA that provide an eerie prelude to the events that transpire before Alan Wakes arrival. The series, which is six episodes in length, introduces us to Jake Fischer, a newspaper reporter who, while visiting the town on business, encounters a series of mysterious and haunting experiences.

Alan Wake is being released May 18, 2010 and will be for the Xbox 360.
