Mass Effect 2 might possibly be my favourite ever game, so I am excited to see that more people will be able to play the game and give it some love.
At EA’s Gamescom press conference, they announced that Mass Effect 2 will be released for the PS3 in January 2011, around a year after its release on XB360 and the PC. The trailer for the video is currently available at .
However, it is unlikely that the PS3 will ever see the original Mass Effect as it was originally published for the XB360 by Microsoft, while the PC version was handled by EA. Yet, it is still exciting to see the game become available for PS3 owners, I know many have been hoping for this for a long time.

Wow, I never thought I’d see the day! I guess it’s not all good news though. The events of Mass Effect 2 had so much more pathos having imported my character from the first game that I’d already spent so many hours with. It’s a shame PS3 players can’t have that same experience.
Yeah, I was supprised too! But I agree, having the events carry over and having the relationships with the characters all made the game far more involving, and really gave the feeling that your decisions did count, I can’t wait to see how they carry over into 3. There was also the feeling that you really knew your character because of the time you spent with them in the firs. I suppose for PS3 players it is going to have to be a case of having whats available, even though its not a perfect situation.
Me neither! Who’d have guessed it?
